Run DMG FAQ & Jargon Buster
What is Digital Marketing?
Traditional forms of advertising are becoming a thing of the past. Print, tv and radio advertising have been superseded by the phenomenal rise of the smartphone and the digital age. For 2017 and beyond the most cost-effective methods of reaching your customers are online; whether through search engines, email or social media. See our blog for more detailed explanations!
What do acronyms like PPC, SEO, SEM and ROI mean?
Digital marketing is complex and can be very confusing, which is why at Run DMG our approach is to explain things in simple terms and then do all the hard work for you. PPC refers to 'Pay Per Click' online advertising, where you are only charged each time someone clicks on your ad. SEO means Search Engine Optimisation, which is vital for getting your website as high up in organic search engine results as possible; and SEM refers to Search Engine Marketing where you actually pay (e.g with Google AdWords) to get your website shown higher in the rankings, in one of those 'sponsored' slots. ROI is a baseline figure for most businesses but is essential in digital marketing for showing you the ultimate Return On Investment for your digital spend. Any other questions? How much does Digital Marketing cost?
